Cover Zen: Portis No More
June 20, 2008One of my favourite albums of all time is Portishead’s debut, “Dummy”. One of my favourite bands back in the day was Faith No More and their uniquely versatile vocalist Mike Patton, so seeing the two combined – in this cover of “Glory Box” – was great

Given Patton’s penchant for irony, mockery and cartoon buffoonery it’s prolly safe to say the lyrics “I just wanna be a woman” played a big part in his selection of this song for a cover version xD.
I saw this live way back when they played at Logan Campbell, I think it was just after King for a Day came out. Twas cool.
I’m sure I was at that concert too… Don’t remember much of it though xD (and not cos I was under the influence xD)
