Cover Zen: Rodrigo y Gabriela – “Thrash metal: acoustic style”

Rodrigo y Gabriela are a mexican duo of spanish-classical guitar stylings who met while playing in a thrash metal band. It’s no surprise, then, that they cover Metallica’s epic instrumental “Orion” (from “Master of Puppets”, the album regularly cited as ‘the greatest heavy metal album of all time‘, amongst other accolades) – especially since they list Metallica as one of their key influences.

They play this cover with gusto and Rodrigo pulls off the first solo on the acoustic flawlessly!
